Job Title: Qualified Social Worker (Children’s Services)
Location: Telford and Wrekin Council (Hybrid – home working & office-based)
Team: CIC (Children in Care)
Pay Rate: £28.55 per hour (MOU Capped)
About the Role
Telford and Wrekin Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their Children’s Services team on a 6‑month maternity cover contract. This role sits within the Children in Care (CIC), Safeguarding, and Family Support Services, offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of children and families, ensuring high-quality assessments and care planning
* Undertake statutory duties in line with safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver effective support and intervention
* Maintain accurate and up-to‑date case records in line with council policies
* Participate in reviews, court proceedings, and case conferences as required
