Project Manager (Public Sector)
VANRATH is assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Project Manager for an initial 3-month period with the possibility of extension. The role is primarily based at their Craigavon site.
Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing and coordinating the region's planned maintenance programme, and support the strategic delivery of an effective regional planned and cyclical maintenance programme, including:
* Ensuring the delivery of the planned maintenance service in accordance with the Client's policies and procedures, and developing these policies to meet legislation and best practices.
* Leading project management of complex and large projects to meet time, quality, and budget targets with minimal supervision.
* Briefing consultants and contractors, negotiating appointments, shaping projects, and providing clear requirements to lead teams effectively towards achieving goals.
* Developing realistic timetables and ensuring projects meet deadlines without compromising quality.
* Conducting feasibility studies and option appraisals, maintaining systems to monitor project costs, and preparing reports and spreadsheets on cost allocation.
* Assessing risks and systematically progressing schemes to overcome them, including preparing reports for Development Panel, Operations Committee, and other approval bodies.
* Developing schemes in accordance with internal procedures, Tenants Services Authority requirements, and the organisation's project manual and design briefs, ensuring full compliance with standing orders and financial procedures.
* Engaging all stakeholders, including local authorities, tenants, staff, and community representatives.
Requirements
To qualify, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:
* Hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a Building/Construction-related discipline plus at least 1 year of relevant experience.
OR
* Possess a BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a Building/Construction-related discipline plus at least 2 years of relevant experience.
OR
* Demonstrate equivalent ongoing professional development or experiential learning, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Building/Construction.
Remuneration
Approximately £34,834 per annum, plus discounted benefits.
