Job Overview
The Practitioner will formulate clinical decisions and patient‑specific care plans to manage acute and chronic illness and acute radiotherapy toxicity. The role involves conducting clinical reviews of patients on treatment or who have completed radiotherapy, providing supportive interventions, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patients are fully informed about management plans. The practitioner will also assist in the development and review of care protocols, deliver training to staff, audit and monitor standards of patient care, and contribute to continuous improvement of evidence‑based practice and patient‑focused care.
Responsibilities
* Formulate clinical decisions and patient‑specific care plans for radiotherapy patients.
* Conduct clinical review of patients on treatment or after radiotherapy completion.
* Provide supportive interventions and information to patients regarding management plans.
* Coordinate with advanced clinical practitioners, medical and nursing staff to deliver seamless service.
* Assist in development and review of care protocols and training for staff.
* Audit and monitor standards of patient care and use findings to improve practice.
Person Specification
* Evidence of extensive postregistration clinical practice in Therapeutic Radiography.
* Continuing professional development evidence.
* Experience managing radiation‑induced toxicity.
* Experience in audit and clinical assessment.
* Experience as a Clinical Supervisor.
* Good understanding of MDT structure and function.
Qualifications and Education
* BSc./PGDip Therapeutic Radiography or DCR(T)
* UK HCPC Registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer.
* Evidence of post‑graduate work‑based learning and/or academic study.
* Masters‑level qualification in Radiotherapy or Health Studies (preferred).
Required Registrations and Legal Statements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
