Job Title: Ward Clerk
Location: Lister Hospital, Stevenage, SG1 4AB
Hours: 30 hours per week, 7:45 - 20:00 rota Monday - Sunday
Pay and length of placement: Band 3, £13.13 per hour, expected length 6 weeks
We are looking for an organised and motivated Ward Clerk to join our team at Lister Hospital on a temporary basis.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a busy hospital environment while supporting patient care and ward efficiency.
What you'll be responsible for:
· Providing a professional and welcoming reception service for patients, visitors, and staff
· Delivering high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward
· Maintaining accurate records, handling enquiries, and supporting the ward team with day-to-day tasks
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
· Confident using IT systems and handling administrative duties
· Able to work flexibly on a rota basis, including weekends
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
