The organisation provides specialist therapeutic services, medico‑legal documentation, legal and welfare support, and advocacy to help survivors recover from the physical and psychological effects of torture and rebuild their lives. The Lead Doctor role is integral to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the medico‑legal reporting service. Responsibilities include overseeing medico‑legal reporting, providing quality assurance, supporting and training doctors, and promoting professional development. Through strong clinical leadership, safeguarding awareness, and a trauma‑informed approach, the Lead Doctor helps ensure survivors receive high‑quality assessments and documentation while contributing to the organisation’s mission of protecting survivors and advancing human rights.
Job responsibilities
* Oversee medico‑legal reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with international standards.
* Provide quality assurance for all assessments and documentation.
* Support, train and mentor doctors engaged in medico‑legal work.
* Promote professional development and keep the team up‑to‑date with best practice.
* Advocate for survivors’ rights and collaborate with the wider team on policy and campaign initiatives.
