LEAD THE OPERATIONS BEHIND THE SPOTLIGHT This is a flagship leadership role within one of the UKs most exciting live entertainment venues. Hosting major concerts, sporting events and large-scale public experiences, this environment is fast-paced, customer-facing and operationally unforgiving. We are seeking a high-calibre Head of Facilities to take ownership of all building services, maintenance, cleaning, engineering and venue infrastructure. ABOUT THE ROLE As Head of Facilities, reporting into the Facilities Director, you will lead the operational engine of a major public venue ensuring every system, space and service performs safely, reliably and efficiently. A defining feature of this role is that the majority of services are delivered by directly employed teams. You will lead cleaners, electricians, engineers and support staff, giving you true ownership of standards, capability and culture. This is not a contractor-management role. It is a hands-on operational leadership position where you will: Build high-performing in-house teams through coaching, training and clear standards Own and evolve the preventative maintenance (PPM) strategy across the entire estate Create, implement and continuously improve SOPs and operational procedures Embed a right first time culture across safety, quality and compliance Move the operation from reactive firefighting to proactive, planned performance The organisation is genuinely open to new ideas. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and develop directly employed facilities teams across cleaning, engineering, maintenance and event support Design and deliver training, capability frameworks and performance standards Own the full preventative maintenance strategy (PPM) across all building services and assets Create, implement and continuously improve SOPs and operating procedures Ensure audit-ready compliance across health & safety, statutory testing and life-safety systems Drive a culture of proactive maintenance and operational excellence Partner with venue and event operations teams to deliver seamless event turnarounds Manage budgets, resources and performance metrics to ensure value and reliability Lead continuous improvement across all facilities and estates functions ABOUT YOU THE LEADER WERE LOOKING FOR You are a senior facilities or operations leader who enjoys being close to the operation. You are equally comfortable on the floor with teams as you are in board-level discussions about strategy, risk and performance. Ideally, you will bring experience from the entertainment, live events, hospitality, leisure, stadium, arena or visitor-attraction sector, where environments are high-pressure, customer-facing and mission-critical. You understand that facilities performance in these settings is immediate, visible and unforgiving. You will bring: Proven experience leading directly employed operational or facilities teams A strong preventative-maintenance and asset-management mindset Experience creating SOPs, standards and structured operating models A coaching leadership style that builds capability and accountability The confidence to challenge how its always been done and improve it A genuine desire to build sustainable, high-performing operations This is not a desk-based FM role.
