About Us
Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) protects the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park. Covering 823 square miles, the park is home to the highest mountain in Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, and over 26,000 people.
We are now looking for a Woodland Apprentice to join us on a full-time basis, working 37 hours per week for a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role
As a Woodland Apprentice, you’ll gain experience helping to care for woodlands, manage land, and support the work of our tree nursery, all while learning valuable skills for a future career in conservation.
Learning from our friendly Conservation, Woodlands and Agriculture team, you’ll gain a practical understanding of the National Park’s woodlands by planting trees, protecting plants, clearing invasive species, and helping to repair fences, hedges and stone walls.
You’ll also learn how to manage habitats and vegetation through tasks like coppicing and tree felling, and support fun and educational activities with schools and local community groups.
Additionally, you will:
- Help out with tree nursery tasks and woodland projects
- Share key messages about nature and looking after the environment
- Promote the Countryside Code and follow health and safety rules at all times
About You
To join us as a Woodland Apprentice, you will need:
- The ability to communicate in Welsh and English
- The ability to work well individually and as part of a team
- A pass grade in Maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent)
- A full, valid driving licence
Please note, this role involves working outdoors in extreme weather and ground conditions.
