Environmental Advisor
Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £40,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: Full-time, days, 40 hours per week

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Environmental Advisor to join a leading food manufacturing organisation with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability. You will play a key role in ensuring ongoing compliance with environmental and energy management standards, driving sustainability initiatives, and promoting environmental awareness across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and Management Systems
* Maintain and develop ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.
* Support external and internal audits, inspections, and certification processes.
* Monitor and interpret environmental and energy legislation, advising management on required actions.
Environmental Management
* Monitor site emissions, effluents, waste streams, and resource use (water, materials, packaging).
* Oversee environmental monitoring programmes, including air, noise, wastewater, and soil sampling.
* Manage waste contractors, ensuring proper segregation, recycling, and disposal in line with legislation.
* Support environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Develop and implement initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
Energy Management
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and deliver energy efficiency projects.
* Monitor energy consumption and prepare regular performance reports.
* Support energy audits and maintain compliance with ISO 50001 requirements.
* Promote energy awareness and sustainable practices across the site.
Reporting and Data Management
* Prepare and submit environmental and energy performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain environmental records, permits, and documentation.
* Track and analyse environmental KPIs to support sustainability goals.
Training and Awareness
* Deliver environmental and energy awareness training to employees and contractors.
* Promote a strong culture of environmental responsibility across all site operations.
