Full time starting salary is normally in the range £27,166 to £28,768, with potential progression once in post to £32,145

Overview
The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) exists to support the academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Data Team has responsibility for the upkeep, maintenance, and development of Blackbaud CRM (BBCRM), data quality, data validation, and the monitoring of the main alumni inbox. Campaign Data Assistants support data entry and validation to enable fundraising and volunteering campaigns, act as the first point of contact for alumni and supporters, maintain database integrity, and assist with training of DARO colleagues.
Main Duties
* Act as the first point of contact for record management enquiries from alumni and supporters via email, telephone, mail, and in person, delivering excellent customer service. Triage complaints in line with the DARO complaints procedure, respond where appropriate, escalate when necessary, and log all incoming complaints/resolution steps.
* Verify, validate and maintain the integrity of DARO data through data cleaning protocols, and set up new records for new audiences as they are recruited. Participate in data cleaning working groups and projects across the data team.
* Review and process data cleansing requests from the in-house ticketing system.
* Support the wider Data team in new systems implementation or IT infrastructure changes as required.
* Provide technical support for BBCRM users across DARO and other University users of the CRM, and support training where appropriate.
* Uphold the principles of the Data Protection Act and ICO guidance and apply them to tasks within the role.
* Research, acquire and input data into the database from a range of sources to ensure long-term BBCRM data quality.
* Participate in inter-departmental projects and working groups (e.g., Graduations, Celebrations, Data Migrations).
* Support equality and valuing diversity; moderate own behaviour to avoid unfair discriminatory impact or bias.
* Any other duties commensurate with the grade.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* GCSEs, grade C/4 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
* Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
* Ability to work in a team and independently, prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
* Problem-solving ability and good use of past experience and best practices.
* Proactive in suggesting improvements to procedures under supervision.
* Excellent IT skills, competent with MS Office and BBCRM or similar databases; Word and Excel at an intermediate level is advantageous.
* Good communication skills and telephone manner; able to interact effectively with alumni, supporters, and colleagues.
* Discretion with confidential information; ability to learn and work independently to gather information or correct data.
* Ability to follow complex data management procedures and operate complex systems.
* Independent, accurate work under deadlines; professional integrity; flexible to change.
* Understanding of the UK HE sector and commitment to equality and diversity.
