Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, and up to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
We are offering a fixed-term Clinical Teaching Fellow position from 06/08/2025 to 05/08/2026. The role provides unique training opportunities in developing and delivering simulation and skills-based teaching programs for undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Responsibilities include ALS, simulation-based teaching (medical emergencies, procedural skills, recognition and management of the sick patient), involvement with foundation program curriculum, case-based learning sessions at the University of Glasgow, OSCE development, and examination.
The post involves working as part of a team of NHSL Clinical Teaching Fellows, primarily attached to one hospital. Regular meetings will review educational outcomes, support peer collaboration, and develop ongoing educational activities. Additional involvement in departmental research and medical education conferences is expected, as outlined by the Director of Medical Education and supervisors. Support will be provided to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education during the attachment, with paid time allocated for study.
Additional duties include participation in the psychiatric on-call rota, maintaining clinical skills through weekly sessions, and complying with supervisory and assessment processes. The role is suitable for trainees with a NTN or those seeking a LAS contract.
