The closing date is 05 January 2026

Applications are invited for the post of consultant dermatologist to work with an established team of 5 consultants and a specialist doctor within the dermatology directorate. The appointee will have clinical responsibilities at JCUH, Middlesbrough and UHNT, Stockton-on-Tees. Applicants should be suitably qualified and experienced in dermatology. The post is advertised for 10 sessions per week, but consideration would be given to those wishing to work fewer sessions.

There will be opportunity to develop a subspeciality interest according to individual expertise.

The department of dermatology provides a full range of outpatient services for patients with both inflammatory and malignant skin disorders and access to inpatient care. Specialist services include paediatric dermatology, genodermatoses clinics, joint vulval and gynaecology clinics, laser, patch testing, photodynamic therapy and complex medical dermatology clinics.

Main duties of the job

A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and their clinical director on behalf of the medical director three months after the commencement date of the appointment. The job plan should be reviewed annually. It will cover all aspects of a consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities, including a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. It should include personal objectives, including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives.
