As part of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, we offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our team in Rugeley. The role involves providing physiotherapy for all community stroke patients from hospital discharge through the rehabilitation pathway. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, and innovative Physiotherapist with stroke/neurological assessment and rehabilitation experience who is eager to further develop skills within stroke care specialty.
Responsibilities
* Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, managing professional and legal accountability and clinical risk for own work.
* Organise and plan own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations change.
* Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse or complex physical, psychological, cognitive and behavioural conditions, and formulate individualised treatment programmes including therapeutic handling, patient education and exercise.
* Supervise through regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review; access to senior physiotherapists as required.
* Collect data for service audit and research projects, manage and conduct research, and recommend practice changes to clinical leads or managers.
* Ensure safe and competent assessment, provision and use of physiotherapy equipment and patient aids, and train junior staff, assistants and technical instructors prior to use.
Qualifications
* Current Health Profession Council registration.
* Experience in stroke/neurological assessment and rehabilitation.
* Ability to work independently in a community rehabilitation setting.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Willingness to travel throughout the working day across Staffordshire and surrounding areas.
* Supervisory experience with assistant practitioners and students (preferred).
