B6 Theatre Practice Educator – Full Time
A full‑time position based on the Royal site, with rotation to BGH Theatres to cover their educational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the provision of high quality multi‑professional learning environments within the Theatre Department and work locally to create inter‑professional learning opportunities.
- Support the breadth of the student experience, including cross‑boundary collaborations.
- Support all members of staff within the Theatres Directorate and fully support the Preceptorship Programme.
- Facilitate the development and ensure sufficient provision of mentors/practice supervisors across relevant service areas; provide supervision and support structures, and build education‑in‑practice capability, consistency and efficiency.
- Structure and coordinate inter‑professional learning activity across one or more service areas.
- Develop and maintain links with education providers to support mentors and practice supervisors.
- Identify shortfalls in mentorship and practice and facilitate access to multi‑professional mentorship and practice supervision programmes, updates and training opportunities.
- Provide best‑practice advice in a clinical setting for mentors/practice supervisors and staff in relation to education in practice.
- Undertake designated projects related to learning and development to inform future activity and priorities for the team/Trust.
Personal and People Development
- Contribute to maintaining and improving own professional knowledge and competence, and that of mentors/practice supervisors.
- Participate in an annual, collaborative appraisal process to enable achievement of objectives and manage learning needs.
- Manage own workload independently and prioritise as required.
- Participate in clinical supervision and professional mentoring.
- Contribute to ensuring that activity relating to student statutory and mandatory training is evidenced.
