Trainee PPM Planner – Salford Quays
Marlowe Fire & Security is the fastest-growing fire & security business in the UK. From initial design, supply and installation, through to ongoing maintenance and monitoring, we maintain the capability to help prevent, detect and monitor Fire and Security risks for our customers up and down the country. We are currently looking to appoint a new Trainee PM Planner located at our Head Office in Salford Quays.
Salary – based on National Minimum Wage
What this role offers
* This opportunity is about taking skills you already have and developing them into becoming a competent and high-achieving Planner/Scheduler, with potential to progress your career across multiple avenues and disciplines.
* Your training and development will involve working with a variety of internal departments (Engineering, Customer Service, Finance and Supply Chain) and external Clients to gain valuable experience and understanding of how teams operate.
* Your first 4-6 weeks will combine classroom training at our in-house Marlowe Academy with 1-2-1 on-the-job training from a designated mentor.
Responsibilities and progression
* Once fully trained, you will schedule all work within the designated region in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Proactively monitor engineers’ activity to ensure daily contact with engineers, early dispatch & attendance of first job, and ongoing monitoring to ensure job completion.
* Build and maintain good working relationships with Engineers, Stores/Supply Chain Department & Regional Service Manager (RSM) to ensure calls are actioned.
* Work closely with your manager and support your assigned Regional Service Manager (RSM) to meet customer expectations.
* Liaise with key clients over the phone to enhance internal and external working relationships.
* Complete the Regional Schedulers checklist on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, maintaining an audit trail and sharing weekly data with the RSM.
* Monitor Scheduling Portal (Cash4Windows) to ensure real-time visibility of engineers and highlight anomalies to your RSM.
* Retrieve phone and email messages and process accordingly within SLAs.
* Process orders to ensure all work is carried out in time to allow invoicing.

* Ideally, at least 6 months of experience in an office-based environment.
* Clear communication with a good telephone manner.
* Good written/email communication skills.
* Basic Microsoft Excel skills (accurate data input, sorting & filtering).
* Customer service experience would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
* Full-time, office-based role with on-site parking and access to nearby public transport.
* Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm.
