Introduction Collaborative leaders who execute, operate, progress and close large and strategic deals for IBM Consulting growth Deal Leaders are responsible for driving and scaling transformational propositions through deal progression and closure within our strategic clients and across the breadth of our capabilities in Business Transformation (BTS) and Hybrid Cloud (HCS). Leveraging a growth mindset, they work with C-suite-level clients to progress and close large, strategic deals, including the IBM value proposition, a winning business and technical solution and commercial proposal, and financial business case. Deal Leaders leverage best practices, competitive strategies and their networks to drive maximum deal conversion. We are seeking ambitious, commercially minded individuals to join our UKI Strategic Sales organisation. This high-impact role focuses on identifying new opportunities, engaging senior clients, progressing deals from identification to closure and positioning IBM as a trusted transformation partner for major enterprises. You will work at the intersection of technology, industry insight and client strategy, helping organisations accelerate digital transformation across cloud, data, AI, applications, functional processes, cybersecurity and more. This role is ideal for individuals who are curious about how technology reshapes business, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and are eager to build their sales expertise. Your role and responsibilities Market, Offerings, Industry and Client Insight * Develop a good understanding of the full suite of IT and digital transformation services (Cloud, AI, Data, Enterprise Apps, Security, Modern Engineering, Consulting, Managed Services) that IBM offers. * Stay across trends, competitor moves, industry dynamics and emerging technologies relevant to client needs. * Research target clients using public information (annual reports, earnings calls, analyst research, regulatory filings, sector news and IBV reports). Opportunity Identification, Progression, Closure * Collaborating with the Client partners, offering leaders, sector leads and strategic sales leaders, identify whitespace opportunities and new entry points for IBM by analysing clients' business challenges, technology priorities and transformation drivers. * Progress early stages opportunities to qualifications and qualified opportunities to closure. * Translate client challenges into tailored, value-driven offerings. * Prepare compelling pitch materials, use-case narratives, solution and commercial propositions, working closely with Solution architects and commercial SMEs * Maintain rigorous pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy via CRM. Client Engagement & Pitching * Lead / Support client conversations, discovery meetings and presentations to key client stakeholders. * Facilitate workshops, innovation sessions, and co-creation engagements. * Build trusted relationships across the client, from senior business leaders to technology teams. Leadership & Entrepreneurial Drive * Think creatively to open new doors, build new propositions and find new avenues for growth. * Bring strong ambition, self-motivation and ownership to every opportunity. * Represent the company in the market with professionalism, insight and confidence. Required technical and professional expertise Experience & Skills * 10 years of experience in this IT Services industry with Engineering and/or MBA or International business development education. * Possess strong and influential leadership skills and closely align with senior leadership to build a quality network among global markets, technology, industry leadership and alliance partner. * Manage large, diverse sales engagement teams, including other brands and ISV partners. * Be commercially astute and exhibit exceptional business insight * Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade and influence other. * Strong grasp of technology concepts and ability to connect them to business outcomes. * Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills. * Analytical mindset with the ability to distil insights from complex information.
