Our client is a top tier manufacturer in the global market of Materials Testing Machines, Accessories, Software and Automated Test Systems. Due to expansion the Vector Extensometer range of products are entirely manufactured onsite and they are seeing an increase in demand, now and for the future. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to assist the team in the Vector Extensometer build processes.
We are looking for a technician with a good understanding of industry leading light manufacturing processes. This role will provide support to the assembly and calibration (supply) process of a growing product range that is currently in its infancy.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Technician;
Use of the company ERP (MRP) system (Microsoft Dynamics F&O)
Perform incoming parts inspection to ensure highest quality production.
Kitting parts from the ERP production orders for sub-assemblies and final production.
Assembling/building the Vector range of products, in line with company build procedures (including any repair work).
Assisting with the Calibration of completed products, using company calibration equipment and recording serial numbers and calibration data/other records in line with company procedures.
Packing the finished Vector range of products, to fulfil customer orders ensuring readiness for on-time shipping
Keeping a tidy and organised working environment and stores area
Ensure production data is recorded and files are updated and accurate.
Skills and Qualifications
Apprentice trained, NVQ / HNC / HND in Mechanical/ Electronic Engineering or other relevant discipline.
A recognized qualification, or documented employee training, in electronic product assembly or other stringent manufacturing environment with a strong practical emphasis.
Full UK Driving Licence an advantage (maybe required to visit the other site in Bristol on an adhoc basis)
Close tolerance assembly skills.
Competent with precision measuring equipment i.e. micrometers and verniers
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, general assembly drawings, department build instructions/procedures and geometric tolerances.
Able to operate a variety of small hand tools.
Experience working with optical assemblies
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365
Experience of working within QMS systems such as ISO 9001.
Hours of work
40 Hours per week:
8am 5pm Mon Thu, 8am - 4pm Fri
