Igloo is recruiting for a Level 2 Vehicle Technician to join our client’s busy automotive site in Upper Heyford. This is a great opportunity to work within a skilled workshop team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of vehicles.
You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard, working efficiently and safely in a fast-paced workshop and compound environment.
The Role:
* Carry out routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre replacements.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection.
* Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and technical tasks.
* Work both in the workshop and on vehicles in the yard/compound where required.
* Accurately record all work carried out, including parts used and time taken.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and workshop procedures.
* Keep up to date with technical developments and attend training when required.
What We’re Looking For:
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
* Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a workshop or garage environment.
* Good understanding of mechanical and basic electrical vehicle systems.
* Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
* Full UK or EU driving licence.
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods.
Desirable:
* Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
