The job itself
A lady in her 20’s with learning disabilities requires a support worker to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Work hours to be discussed at the interview and within reason the times can be to suit the successful applicant. This lady has limited verbal communication, she can use a few Makaton signs. She enjoys swimming, ball pool activities, Ten Pin bowling, feeding ducks and doesn’t mind going out for an occasional meal to the pub.
Support is required for activities within the community, she does use a wheelchair if necessary.
Preparation of meals & drinks and assisting with feeding and personal hygiene care is required.
Experience with learning disabilities would be preferred but not essential.
This lady lives in a rural location near to Driffield and due to the location car driver essential.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
