Acorn Homes is a provider of residential care homes for vulnerable children. We currently have multiple homes that have been rated "OUTSTANDING" by Ofsted and are adding more homes to the Acorn family. We are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to join our team.

Position: Residential Support Worker

Location: Hernebay

Salary: £30,160 per annum (£12.50 per hour, including 2 sleep shifts per week, £40 per sleep)

We offer funding for your NVQ Level 3 in childcare.


Purpose of the Role:

A Support Worker will deliver high standards of care, protection, and support to children and young people, facilitating their development in line with individual care plans.


Key Responsibilities:

* Encourage and motivate children, young people, and young adults to develop life skills.
* Participate in leisure activities, educational interests, and social opportunities.
* Provide a safe and structured environment with positive challenges.


Abilities Required:

* Organise, plan, and take responsibility.
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Motivate and guide children in their self-development.
* Set appropriate examples.
* Listen and respond with sensitivity.
* Manage challenging behavior and guide staff.
* Understand and implement Quality Standards.
* React calmly in stressful situations.
* Maintain administrative records.

Essential Requirements:

* Hold or be willing to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People.
* Willing to work shifts including early, late, night, and sleepovers.
* Over 21 years of age.


Desirable Requirements:

* Two years experience in a children's home.
* Full UK driving license.
