Warwick School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working Graduate Music Assistant from September 2025 to August 2026.
The primary duties of the Graduate Music Assistant are to support the large Music team in developing and delivering music opportunities at Warwick School and Warwick Junior School.
The position offers the opportunity to experience life in a large and vibrant music department that serves both Warwick School and Warwick Junior School. The Graduate Music Assistant will work within a highly committed team of staff and with intelligent, enthusiastic boys aged 8 to 18. The post will be useful in developing the candidate's skills in a wide range of disciplines and to experience many varying aspects of the music profession, including administration, teaching, and performance. Opportunities to explore any area of personal musical interest would be actively encouraged.

The Graduate Music Assistant will report directly to the Director of Music.
Working hours : 37 hours per week for 35.4 weeks per year
Salary : The salary scale for this role is Foundation payscale point 11 (FTE :£23,492 per annum), equivalent to the actual salary of £18,730 (prorated) per annum.

Job Requirements
* A background as a skilled instrumentalist, singer or composer
* Strong IT and administrative skills including the use of Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Confident ability in the use of score editing software and desktop publishing software
* Strong organisational skills, self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Conscientiousness, enthusiasm and the ability to sustain long hours during term time, including evenings nd weekends when required.
* Ability to communicate well and develop a rapport with a large team of Music staff, instrumental tutors and pupils throughout the school.
* Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
* A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
* Enjoyment in working with young people and passing on their musical gifts to others
* Reliable time management, prioritisation and organization.
* Adaptability, dependability and confidence
Job Responsibilities
* To support the large Music team in developing and delivering music opportunities at Warwick School and Warwick Junior School.
* Opportunities for involvement will be agreed to suit the successful candidate's strengths and musical qualities
* To enter into the school's rich musical life and participate in concerts, chapel and musical shows as required
* To participate in rehearsals for a wide range of ensembles of different sizes and musical styles
* To assist with equipment setup before and after ensemble rehearsals
* To work with staff in the creation, arrangement and orchestration of music for ensembles
* To assist staff with maintaining databases of instruments and sheet music
* To assist with evening concerts, open mornings, trips and tours as required
* To complete department administration as required (e.g. photocopying)
