Duties
Support for Teachers
Within this role the ICT Technician will:
•Support the installation, maintenance and technical upkeep of computer technology to facilitate an appropriate ICT learning and work environment.
•Administer the creation and maintenance of network user accounts and email accounts.
•Set up audio/visual (AV) equipment and facilities across the school, including projectors, interactive whiteboards, video/DVD, sound systems, etc.
•Assist in the preparation and use of ICT equipment and resources as required (e.g., for assemblies and meetings).
•Maintain an inventory of computer equipment as required.
•Undertake minor repairs on electrical and audio-visual equipment where appropriate and competent to do so.
•Maintain security and safety procedures for ICT equipment.
•Provide administrative support when required.

Support for School
Within this role the ICT Technician will:
•Arrange log-in usernames and passwords for pupils and staff, including resetting accounts.
•Set up, manage, and maintain up-to-date pupil and staff email lists (allocate email addresses to new starters, close accounts for leavers).
•Install and test new software and software updates.
•Decommission old hardware and install new hardware, including removing equipment from classrooms and disposing of it under the guidance of the Regulatory and Technical Support Team Leader.
•Analyse, investigate, and diagnose ICT issues (software and hardware) and report or advise on solutions under the direction of the Regulatory and Technical Support Team Leader.
•Undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as requested.
•Maintain everyday ICT equipment, checking regularly for quality and safety to ensure efficient operation.
•Stay aware of the operation of ICT systems in the school and keep up-to-date with new developments in hardware and software, reporting as necessary.
•Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school.
•Attend and participate in regular meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications
GCSE (or equivalent) in English at Grade A*-C / Level 2
GCSE (or equivalent) in an IT subject: Desirable
•Qualifications in any of the following: MCP / MCITP / OS X Support and CompTIA
Good working knowledge of:
oWindows 10
oActive Directory and Group Policy management and administration
oTCP/IP Networking, VLAN, fault discovery
oO365
oPrinter deployment
A good working knowledge of:
oAssembly support (including editing PowerPoints)
oTablet computers and mobile devices
oGoogle Apps for Education administration
oWireless networks
oComputer networking
oPrinters and MFDs
oAudio visual equipment
•Good interpersonal skills
•Ability to learn new technical content quickly is essential
