Contract Status: Permanent
Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!
Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (GADRS) works in partnership with GP enhanced services that offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT standard 7) to their patients in the community.
A new model of support has been developed to assist both GPs and individuals on MAT, leading to the need for a Team Leader. This role is crucial for delivering safe and effective recovery-oriented care and treatment, and plays an essential leadership role in implementing MAT Standards and local and national strategies. Candidates should be enthusiastic, recovery-focused, and capable of managing change and risk.
As a Team Leader, you will recruit, train, develop, support, and manage a central team. This team will support individuals with low to medium support needs receiving MAT in the community through their GP. The team will be based centrally within Glasgow, supporting shared care GPs and their patients across North East, North West, and South Glasgow.
You will also collaborate closely with the Primary Care Facilitation team, GP Practices, ADRS localities, and other care groups. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of clinics with the Shared Care Enhanced Service. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic integrated Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service and will oversee the direct line management of Primary Care Recovery Workers.
Candidates must possess a Degree or Diploma in a relevant health and care subject. Experience in Alcohol and Drug services is essential, along with understanding and experience of integrated service delivery.
Please refer to the Person Specification for full details on the required qualifications, skills, knowledge, and competencies.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential upon appointment. Successful candidates will need to pay for their PVG membership or scheme checks.
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is mandatory. You must be already registered or apply within 3 months and complete registration within 6 months of your start date. Currently, local authority staff are not required to pay SSSC fees.
These roles are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 16th June 2025.
