We are seeking an ambitious and energetic Senior Event Manager with a passion for organising and delivering high-quality events.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the event catering industry, with at least two years’ experience working across multiple venues and managing events of varying scales. You will possess strong industry knowledge, impeccable standards, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers. A commercial mindset and confidence in delivering events within budget—without compromising on quality—are essential.
The Role
You will be the primary point of contact for clients, taking over event planning following the initial brief from the Sales Team. From this stage onward, you will oversee all operational aspects and act as the hands-on manager on the day, ensuring every event reflects Caper & Berry’s excellent reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Duties
* Managing the on-site delivery of events
* Liaising with clients in the lead up to events and adapting plans to suit their needs
* Booking and motivating front- and back-of-house teams
* Collaborating with Sales, Kitchen and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless delivery
* Attending site visits with clients and suppliers
* Overseeing logistics, including transport, equipment, and packing lists
* Ordering hire items such as equipment, linen and kitchen setups
* Producing detailed event notes and function sheets, and distributing these to the wider team
* Creating accurate RAMS/Health & Safety documentation
* Working with chefs on menus, allergens and dietary requirements
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with preferred suppliers and venues
* Updating and re-issuing quotes to reflect final plans and managing event budgets
* Working autonomously, managing your own workload and flexible hours
* Adhering to strict venue regulations and best practice at all times
* Upholding the high standards and values of Caper & Berry
Skills & Experience
* Minimum of two years’ experience organising and delivering high-profile events
* Strong knowledge of London event venues, particularly museums and galleries
* Previous experience managing external catering operations
* Exceptional project management and client service skills
* Confident communicator in person, by phone and via email
* Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
* A passion for, and strong knowledge of, food, drink and hospitality
* Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen
