Role
Climate17 is working alongside a fully vertically integrated renewable energy company that develops, builds, owns, and operates a significant portfolio of large-scale solar and wind assets across the UK.
We are actively seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to attend customer sites, maintaining various solar PV systems, primarily ground-mounted solar farms. The engineer will perform maintenance on installations, utilizing and testing solar PV systems within their defined competencies.
Responsibilities
1. Perform routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on solar PV systems.
2. Assist in the installation of new Solar PV or Wind systems in the current pipeline.
3. Conduct Preventative Maintenance.
4. Carry out Corrective Maintenance within assessed and authorized competencies.
5. Report activities performed on site via CMMS or manual reports.
6. Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors working on site.
7. Coordinate third-party contractors to ensure compliance with H&S regulations.
8. Maintain accurate records of electrical testing suitable for audits, within competencies.
9. Perform fault finding on systems not functioning correctly, within competencies.
10. Notify the line manager of any issues.
11. Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
Requirements
1. Relevant Level 2 qualification in electrical engineering (City & Guilds, EAL, etc.).
2. City & Guilds 17/18th BS7671 Wiring Regulations (working towards).
3. Sub-station awareness training.
4. At least 2 years of electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair experience with LV AC/DC systems, ideally in renewable energy.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CMMS, and reporting software.
6. Ability to read SLDs and technical schematic drawings.
7. Valid full manual driving license.
