Overview
Intervention Tutor role at TieTalent. Core subject tutoring (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEN / SEND, SEMH, and other additional educational needs in East Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN / SEND and other needs. Tutors work 1:1 with children and young people, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes. Supported throughout every placement by our SEN / SEND Support Specialists and our tutor community.
This role is suitable for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who enjoy 1:1 tutoring and want to make a positive impact.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and may require support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver engaging sessions that meet the student’s needs and progress their educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Safeguarding knowledge and processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work
It is required that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor employment status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term assignments as they arise
* Contract for service with payment via PAYE
* No guaranteed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
