Posted: 11 June
The role
Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to make a real impact on major infrastructure programmes that benefit communities and the environment?

We’re seeking a commercially driven professional to lead and shape commercial strategy across a high profile Water infrastructure programme. This is a unique opportunity to influence the delivery of large scale capital projects, manage complex contracts, and drive value across significant investment programmes at a time of massive industry transformation.

This is an exciting time to be part of a sector undergoing significant investment and transformation. You'll work on projects that deliver lasting environmental improvements, collaborate with talented professionals, and have the opportunity to grow your career in a forward thinking organisation that values flexibility, innovation, and impact.

Life doesn't always fit neatly into a 9–5, and this organisation recognises that. They support flexible working, helping you balance your career with the things that matter most outside work. With a 37 hour working week and only two days in the office, you should be able to find a really nice balance.

As Commercial Manager, you’ll:
  • Take ownership of commercial performance from project inception through to completion
  • Working closely with delivery, procurement, and supply chain teams, you’ll develop innovative commercial strategies, manage NEC contracts, drive financial performance, and ensure robust risk management throughout the programme lifecycle
  • Play a key role in contract negotiation, supplier performance, forecasting, cost control, and stakeholder engagement, providing commercial insight that supports strategic decision making at the highest level
To be successful in this position, you will have:
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-million pound contracts
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK contract frameworks
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting and cost management
  • Outstanding negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to identify risks, unlock opportunities, and deliver value-driven outcomes
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a proactive and results-focused approach
  • A degree in Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying
On offer is a salary of a round £75,000 to £85,000  along with an  annual bonus of up to 15% , a £6,000 car allowance, private health care and a very generous employer pension contribution.

If you're ready to make a real impact, help deliver essential infrastructure, and contribute to a sustainable future for millions of people, then please don't hesitate to apply via email, or drop Rob a call on 020 3998 7671.

“People Group is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to promoting an inclusive environment for both our clients and employees.”
