Our Group HR team is based at Head Quarters in Mallusk, providing services to all four Henderson Group Companies, covering a workforce of circa 5300 employees, including our distribution, head office functions, and 111 retail stores across N.I.
The Purpose of the role:
Working as part of a team of HR Advisors and supported by a group administration function, you will deliver a high-quality, proactive, and efficient HR service to employees and line managers across our retail stores and head office/distribution centres.
You will be the professional point of technical expertise for line management in matters of HR policy, employment law, and best practice, providing advice and guidance to ensure the company meets its employment obligations.
Responsibilities include:
1. Handle Employment Relation cases, including supporting disciplinary and grievance hearings, managing sickness absence, and supporting business changes (reorganisations, TUPE, working practices).
2. Collaborate with L&D on people management training solutions.
3. Contribute to effective employee communication strategies.
4. Support the promotion of equality of opportunity and compliance with relevant legislation.
5. Maintain and develop people information via HR systems (manpower, absence, turnover).
6. Coach and counsel line managers on employee relations matters.
7. Undertake projects in key HR areas as assigned.
Skills for Success
The minimum criteria for this role include:
1. At least 2 years’ relevant experience in an HR advisory role within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
2. CIPD qualification or working towards it.
3. Good knowledge of employment law and ability to apply it practically.
4. Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle.

4. Flexibility to meet deadlines and adapt to business needs.
Desirable experience:
* Experience in retail, FMCG, or logistics sectors.
