The Junior Biomedical Engineer will assist the R&D team in the design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of next-generation surgical technologies. This hands-on role will involve working across mechanical, electronic, and biomedical domains to support verification and validation (V&V) activities, contributing to device performance and regulatory readiness. Responsibilities Support the design, assembly, and testing of prototype medical devices, subsystems, and test rigs. Conduct verification and validation testing under supervision, collecting and analysing performance data. Assist in maintaining accurate technical documentation, including test reports, risk analyses, and design files. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to troubleshoot and improve device performance. Contribute to product development in alignment with ISO 13485 quality standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement processes. Qualifications Degree (BEng or MEng) in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Early experience or strong academic projects in medical devices, instrumentation, or precision engineering. Good understanding of design principles, prototyping, and basic laboratory or testing methods. Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced start-up developing real-world surgical innovations.
