The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated People Services Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring excellent employee experiences and managing the operational aspects of our HR function across a national, multi-site group. This is a temporary role covering maternity leave for up to 12 months. You will work closely with managers, staff, and leadership to foster a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment law, and deliver consistent people services that support both business goals and staff wellbeing. This is a varied role covering day-to-day HR operations, employee engagement, policy compliance, casework resolution, and recruitment. Key Responsibilities Lead on the delivery of HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle management. Provide professional advice and support to staff and managers on people-related issues. Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives across the Group. Ensure compliance with employment law, sector regulation, and internal policies. Manage employee relations casework and coach managers in performance and conflict resolution. Oversee HR data, reporting, and metrics to inform decision-making. Support recruitment and safer hiring practices, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and vetting checks. About You We’re looking for someone who is: Experienced in HR operations and employee relations, ideally in a complex or multi-site environment. CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards), with a strong knowledge of UK employment law. Proactive, empathetic, and confident in providing HR advice to managers and staff. Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities. Skilled in HR systems, reporting, and data analysis. Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. What we offer?
