Responsibilities
* Develop, review, proofread, and data-check high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials like slides, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, training decks, infographics, congress materials, literature reviews, response letters, and HCP engagement content, tailored to client and audience needs with excellent attention to detail.
* Review materials created by scientific writers to ensure strategic and scientific accuracy, providing constructive feedback, support, and supervision. Mentor and train team members by sharing best practices and client preferences to enhance skills.
* Maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical clients, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders, understanding their needs, advising on strategic plans, and proposing improvements for scientific content dissemination. Act as a key client contact and support account management.
* Communicate effectively with team members, authors, clients, and vendors.
* Participate in workshops, seminars, and trainings to develop skills and contribute to organizational goals.
* Attend external meetings and support senior team members.
* Collaborate on digital medical communications initiatives, including content creation, visual content development, and innovative solutions.
* Ensure all materials comply with client requirements, SOPs, style guides, and templates, updating documents as needed.
* Contribute as a document specialist, making scientific research accessible and current across therapeutic areas.
* Work with technology and creative teams on digital solutions for Medical Affairs, including engagement materials.
* Participate in client pitches and business development efforts.
* Manage a team of writers and reviewers if on the managerial track.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
* Minimum 5 years of medical writing experience in medical communications or life sciences agency.
* PhD/MD (Pharmacology), PhD (Life Sciences), PharmD, or MPharm/M.Sc with understanding of clinical research and medical communication.
* Clear, concise scientific writing style with high attention to detail and excellent language skills.
* Ability to adapt writing style for different materials and audiences.
* Basic knowledge of biostatistics.
* Literature review and evaluation skills.
