Job Description
We’re looking for a Shift Leader at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco, to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
You will oversee store activities, run duty shifts, and coordinate a team to ensure a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
The role focuses on improving customer service through coaching, understanding store performance, and implementing practical improvements.
You will ensure the store remains a safe environment for both staff and customers.
You will be Responsible For
* Leading the team to provide excellent shopping experiences.
* Opening and closing the store, managing duty cover, and making customer and safety-focused decisions.
* Serving as the point of contact for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager.
* Supporting store events and creating an inclusive atmosphere.
* Maintaining store cleanliness and presentation.
* Prioritizing product replenishment based on customer needs.
* Ensuring accurate pricing and signage.
* Handling overcharges and preventing reoccurrences.
* Managing queues to enhance customer experience.
* Scheduling staff breaks and daily priorities.
* Monitoring store performance and implementing improvements.
* Following health and safety routines.
* Communicating effectively with the team.
* Suggesting operational improvements to the Store Manager.
* Focusing on customer needs and resolving queries.
* Recognizing colleagues' excellent service.
* Addressing obstacles to service delivery.
* Handling colleague queries or escalating issues.
* Managing staffing levels, including short-term absences.
* Acting as Keyholder, including alarm response.
* Ensuring internal communications are followed up.
* Balancing service and replenishment tasks.
* Supporting absence management and return-to-work processes.
* Building relationships with managers and HR partners.
* If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include Post Office operations, requiring background checks which must be passed to proceed.
