Job Title: Junior Legal Counsel About the role: You will be an integral part of the Legal Team, providing support and advice on a range of legal and compliance matters. You will report to the Head of Legal and be the fifth member of the team. Key Responsibilities (Day to day duties): Drafting and reviewing a wide range of contracts Data protection matters including UK and international data transfers Compliance work including advertising regulations, trading standards, and pricing regulations Litigation, in particular, consumer claims and commercial disputes Intellectual property protection and disputes Support with Mergers & Acquisitions Company secretarial Wide range of general legal queries Instructing external lawyers Who we're looking for: Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Solicitor with 2 yr PQE (Essential) Experience of drafting and reviewing commercial contracts Enjoy the mix of being head-down one moment and in a spontaneous meeting the next Derive a satisfaction from identifying where processes and systems can be improved and implementing the necessary changes Understand the commercial needs of the business when giving advice on legal matters Diligent Discreet Good research skills and able to present findings in a way that is easy to understand Location: We operate a hybrid working policy which means you will be based out of our Milton Keynes Store Support Centre and you decide with your manager and team what works best for you and the role you do If that means working from home for part of the week, then you can work from home. If you prefer to come into the office full time, or work from one of our stores or distribution centers then you're welcome to do that if you wish For this particular role, we will need you to work from our Milton Keynes office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week. This may be slightly more (up to 4 days per week) on rare occasions in the run-up to our peak seasons. Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (May be negotiable - Depending on Experience) Contract: Perm Working hours : 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday (8 am - 4 pm, OR 9 am - 5 pm) - flexible working arrangements, may be available, depending upon individual circumstances.
