We are looking for a compassionate and reliable female Personal Assistant to support a 14-year-old girl with complex physical needs. She is bright, funny, and full of character – and requires hands‑on support before and after school.
This is a part‑time role for 8 hours per week across Monday and Tuesday, with flexibility required to adapt to changing needs, especially during times when the child is unwell.
Working Hours
Regular Hours:
* Monday: 08:00 – 09:30 and 15:00 – 17:30
* Tuesday: 08:00 – 09:30 and 15:00 – 17:30
Flexible Hours (approx. 50% of the time, when the child is unwell):
* Monday & Tuesday: 12:00 – 16:00
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Morning Support (Before School)
* Assist with personal hygiene: washing, tooth brushing
* Catheterisation (Mitrofanoff)
* Change stoma bag (colostomy care)
* Iron and dress in school uniform
* Prepare and feed breakfast
* Tidy up after tasks
Afternoon Support (After School)
* Collect from school (Driver essential)
* Support with personal hygiene and care (as above)
* Prepare and feed evening meal
* Play and engage in activities
* Support with homework
Who We’re Looking For – Person Specification
* Female PA (Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010)
* Kind, empathetic, and patient with a bubbly personality
* Culturally aware and respectful – must be accepting of all religions and cultures
* Fast‑thinking and calm in emergencies
* Able to administer medication if required
* Confident cooking basic Pakistani/Indian meals
* Must work well with the family, including twin sister, other carers, and neighbours
Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* Experience in catheterisation (Mitrofanoff)
* Trained in colostomy/stoma care
* Awareness of epilepsy and emergency procedures
* Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain)
* Must be a non‑smoker and not smoke during work hours
Other Information
* Driver essential – school pickups required
* Family has one friendly cat – no pet care required, but must be comfortable around cats
* Must be able to fit in and work collaboratively with the family and wider support network
