The business is a well-established manufacturer, designing and producing a range of items that are key in providing safety, security and convenience in homes, workplaces, hospitals, schools, offices, airports and shops. So youll also get a sense of pride for your part in helping with this. There are only 5 products that they make (with some variations), so youll get to know them well. Youll be working as part of the Research and Development team, and will play a key part in designing, developing, and improving the range of products. This will include making sure that they meet performance standards on quality, safety, and performance; perhaps making changes to ensure this. There will be challenges to overcome, and problems to solve. There will also be some focus on new product development, and youll be involved in conception, costing, feasibility, design, testing, and eventually when its launched to market. This will include working on prototype development. In addition to the design work, there will be work on technical documentation, including design specifications and checking of test reports. WHAT YOULL NEED Youll need an engineering degree, ideally something Mechanical related. And strong CAD design skills. Solidworks ideally, but if youve used another version then that is ok as youll be able to pick it up. And you should ideally have some kind of related work experience; for example from an internship, placement, or a job. WHERE YOULL BE DOING IT North-west Luton.
