Welcome to the Cornell Behavioral Health Pavilion
Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s latest addition to its expanding Behavioral Health services is the Cornell Behavioral Health Pavilion. The 3-story building offers a full continuum of care from acute inpatient care to intensive outpatient services – and features a collaborative team of mental health experts that ensures the community’s residents have access to quality and compassionate care.
The Cornell Behavioral Health Pavilion’s features include:
* 82 private inpatient suites across four units dedicated for adolescent, geriatric, adult, and acute patient populations
* A sensory room on each patient floor, with customizable light and music for optimal rest and relaxation
* Common areas for patients including a gym, screened balconies, and open-air gardens
* Group Therapy Rooms
* Beautiful new facility with state-of-the-art equipment
Inpatient Behavioral Health
Sarasota Memorial’s comprehensive, Inpatient Behavioral Health programs provide short-term, intensive psychiatric treatment for adults, adolescents and children. The programs combine advanced medical practice, pharmacology and psychotherapists to treat emotional disorders that affect interpersonal or occupational functioning. Services range from confidential mental health assessments to individual, group, and family therapy, and planning for care after hospitalization.
Additional health services include:
* A nurturing, customizable and comfortable environment
* Acute psychiatric services for patients who are admitted voluntarily or involuntarily
* Staff psychiatrists, licensed mental health counselors and social workers
* Medication treatment
* Relapse prevention
* Post treatment planning and care coordination
* Licensed Baker Act receiving facility
* Assistance with insurance and referrals
* 24-hour availability
* 12 hour shifts available for our Behavioral Therapists
Outpatient Behavioral Health
Outpatient Behavioral Health offers specialized, medically assisted programs for adults (age 18 and older) and adolescents (ages 13 – 18) managing acute mental disorders or dual diagnosis of mental health issue(s) and substance abuse, as well as help for adults transitioning back into the community after hospitalization.
Currently we are seeking to add additional Therapists to our team as we continue to grow. Below are two therapist positions we are currently seeking to hire.
Triage/Admissions Clinician for our Clinical Assessment Center:
This position exhibits excellent customer service, and is the initial contact for individuals, family, and referral sources requesting services or information. Will provide telephonic and in-person risk assessments/evaluations, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. Uses empathetic listening and crisis intervention skills to obtain all pertinent clinical, and demographic information to assist callers to the right level of care.
Behavioral Health Therapist for our Inpatient Units:
Provides person-centered and empathetic care, evaluates psychosocial needs, uses brief interventions and evidence-based practices to enhance the individual’s function and emotional wellbeing. May provide counseling, psychoeducation, and access to appropriate and
agreed upon services. Working within a multidisciplinary team, adheres to established standards of care.
Required Qualifications
– Require a master’s degree in psychiatric related field.
– Require Florida licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (Ph.D.).
– Require two (2) years of experience in a Behavioral Health related setting.
– Require the ability to obtain a level 2 AHCA clearance.
