Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing biodiversity? Do you want to influence development and ecology coexistence across South Norfolk and Broadland? Join our forward-thinking Planning team as a Principal Ecologist and Biodiversity Officer.
You will be at the forefront of integrating ecology into planning decisions, providing expert advice on protected species, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), habitats regulations, and ecological impacts across diverse landscapes, from urban to rural areas, across various applications including residential, commercial, and infrastructure schemes.
Help shape responses to environmental legislation and local priorities, collaborate across disciplines to embed biodiversity into sustainable growth strategies, and ensure ecology and biodiversity are protected and enhanced through development.
We seek a motivated, ambitious team player to work within our multi-disciplinary Majors team, balancing large growth agendas with environmental protection and enhancement.
The role requires the ability to drive a car but offers a hybrid working model, with office days at the Horizon office near Norwich, a city rich in culture and natural beauty, with excellent transport links and facilities for cyclists.
Qualifications: A professional qualification in Biology/Ecology or related science, relevant work experience, and knowledge of the planning system.
Requirements: Full UK driving license and access to a car.
