About Adult Social Care and Prevention
Our Directorate is built around four pillars that work collaboratively to deliver high quality, meaningful and effective support across the city. These roles lead on the commissioning and procurement of externally commissioned services, and sit within our Quality, Strategy and Innovation pillar.

We’re seeking a values-driven professional who is passionate about supporting people in Newcastle to live the life they choose. You’ll combine strong analytical skills with empathy, curiosity and a clear commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services.
* Bring a keen eye for detail, a focus on continuous improvement, and an enthusiasm for developing innovative commissioning approaches that respond to local need.
* Be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including providers, partners, colleagues and people who draw on services, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences and contexts.
* Have a solid understanding of commissioning, quality assurance and performance monitoring, including outcomes-based commissioning across adult social care or prevention services.
* Experience supporting or delivering procurement activity would be an advantage, alongside an appreciation of how effective contract management builds relationships, maximises value and improves outcomes for residents.
Above all, you’ll be compassionate, reflective and collaborative, with a genuine commitment to shaping services that make a meaningful difference.
