Location: Birmingham campus with hybrid working (4 days on campus, 1 day working from home, non-contractual benefit; location may vary based on teaching/meetings)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an innovative and professional individual with experience creating high-quality digital learning materials to join our growing Law Department. You will be highly motivated and committed to delivering an excellent teaching and learning environment. You will have a good understanding of the Qualifying Law Degree and Solicitors Qualifying Examinations, as well as broader industry issues, and will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate provisions. You will report to a Senior Lecturer in Law and will:

* Deliver engaging and dynamic workshops face-to-face and online for campus-based and distance-learning students.
* Take on module leadership, ensuring quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
* Design effective digital teaching material for undergraduate and postgraduate study to meet defined learning objectives.
* Manage teaching activity and reflect on practice with support as needed.
* Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning.
* Contribute to Department-level activity.
* Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.


About You

Essential Skills / Experience

* Postgraduate qualification in English Law.
* Ability to teach across the LLB curriculum including foundations of legal knowledge and at least two other modules offered by the Law Department, including modules linked to the SQE.
* AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willingness to achieve within 12-18 months.
* Experience in current and effective teaching, learning and assessment practices in Higher Education and ability to contribute to Arden’s programmes and student outcomes.
* Experience or interest in supervising/training junior legal staff in the absence of formal teaching experience.

Desirable Skills / Experience

* PhD in Law and/or legal practice experience (welcome but not essential).
* FHEA or equivalent teaching qualification preferred; willing to support obtaining HE teaching qualification and advanced HE Fellowship.
* Experience in supporting clinical legal education.
