Social Work Assessment & Support Co-ordinator (Fixed Term)

Castle Douglas

£34,161 - £36,564

You will be a member of a busy multiagency team working closely with colleagues from police and health. The successful candidate should have relevant education in health and social care at further/higher education level or SCQF level 7, such as SVQ level 3, HNC, or equivalent.

You should be committed to developing the service and achieving the best outcomes for service users in partnership with other agencies. An understanding of the Adult Support and Protection legislation is essential. You will support social work colleagues with complex work but will not be solely responsible for it. All work must be undertaken under the guidance of a qualified social worker or council officer delegated by the senior social worker.

Excellent communication skills, understanding of business systems, and competence in computer use are required. You should possess good organisational and administrative skills, be capable of building and maintaining professional relationships across partner agencies, and work effectively within a team. A clear understanding of the impact of disability on service users and their carers, along with the importance of advocacy services, is also necessary.

This position may be suitable for secondment; however, approval from your Line Manager is required.

The post is within the ASP/MASH Team, but there may be occasions when support is needed for other Social Work Teams depending on service requirements.


Additional Information

This role involves regulated work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join or update their PVG Scheme membership prior to employment.

Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant country or countries.

A current driving licence is essential.

This is a fixed-term position for up to 9 months.

Secondment applications are welcome with prior approval from your line manager.
