The Post:
Pay, Terms and Conditions are a team within the Human Resources and Workforce Development Directorate. We aim to provide an excellent service, specialising in the following HR workstreams: Job Evaluation, Organisational Change, Redeployment, TUPE, Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) of employment.
Due to additional funding, we have an opportunity for a Specialist HR Advisor to join the team on a fixed-term contract/secondment for 12 months.
The Specialist HR Advisor will be a key point of contact for our internal customer queries received in person, via video call or written enquiries.
The Candidate:
We are looking for an individual to join the team who has considerable experience of providing specialist HR advice in a large organisation to a range of internal stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of employment law/guidance relevant to job evaluation, organisation change/TUPE, redeployment and or terms and conditions is required.
You should have experience of analysing HR policies and Terms and Conditions to assess consistency of application. The candidate will have experience presenting findings in varying formats to different audiences: governance groups, virtual presentations, one-to-ones etc.
You should hold or have the equivalent relevant knowledge and experience of a Degree in Human Resource Management (or similar business/communications subject) and have membership of CIPD (or equivalent).
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
The post will be based in Edinburgh (Gyle Square) or Glasgow (Delta House). We have a flexible approach to work location where we blend office and home working, depending on service need and preference. This post is suitable for flexi-time.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
