Tax Advisor and Compliance
We are seeking a Tax Advisor to join our team, focusing on tax advice, compliance, and planning. The role involves working across various taxes, primarily IHT, CGT, and income tax, for individuals and trusts, with exposure to payroll taxes and Stamp Duty Land Tax.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with partners and team members on tax projects and general tax matters, providing oversight and problem-solving support. While expertise in all tax areas is not mandatory, confidence in research, problem-solving, and issue identification is essential. Experience with Lloyds Underwriters, Trusts, High Net Worth Private Clients, or similar is advantageous. Training will be provided as needed.
Responsibilities include training and reviewing junior staff work, working with tax partners on client-facing planning and advisory projects, and handling compliance tasks like self-assessment and tax returns.
Ideal candidates will be:
1. ATT or CTA qualified
2. Motivated and adaptable to remote work
3. Confident in communicating tax rules and implications to clients in writing
This role is mainly Private Client-focused but may occasionally involve advice for business clients. It includes tax compliance duties such as preparing tax returns.
The position can be office-based or hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office for full-time staff. Our offices are located in Tenterden, Rye, and Bexhill, with preference given to applicants willing to work at these locations.
We offer full-time roles and part-time options (minimum 80% of full-time hours). Initial interviews will be via video call, with subsequent in-person interviews at our offices.
Salary ranges from £42,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
