We are seeking a skilled Immunisation Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality immunisation services to school-aged children.
Job Description
The successful candidate will undertake clinical and administrative duties relating to immunisation, primarily delivered on site for primary and secondary children in schools and community clinic settings.
* Work collaboratively with the team to support service delivery and facilitate smooth continuity of operations.
* Vaccinate 20-25 school children per hour during flu season.
* Promote and support the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.
* Support Programme Managers, Team Lead, and Clinical Lead as applicable.
* Attend various locations as directed by your line manager.
* Deliver an effective, evidence-based level of care to patients.
* Participate in clinical supervision and staff performance development.
* Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints are reported, monitored, and processed according to organisational policies and procedures.
* Participate in audits, making recommendations based on findings and sharing outcomes with the team.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping in accordance with company policy, procedure, and guidelines.
* Contribute actively and constructively to team meetings.
* Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella.
* Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Nursing and/or midwifery qualification.
* Basic Life Support certification (desirable).
* Evidence of signed competencies for relevant vaccinations (desirable).
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Working knowledge of Prescription-only Medication (POM) frameworks.
* Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
* Ability to understand and implement informed consent principles.
* Computer literacy and basic knowledge of Excel.
* Cold chain management, ordering, and arranging transport.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Assertive, team player, and critical thinker.
* Ability to drive (desirable).
