Role: Lecturer - ESOL

Location: Central Bedfordshire College - Dunstable Kingsway Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in ESOL to join our ESOL and Basic Skills department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

* ESOL Teaching & Delivery - Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons for 16-18 and adult learners across various locations, using inclusive strategies and ILT resources to support diverse learning needs.
* Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Track and assess learner progress, participate in standards moderation, and ensure accurate completion of documentation for internal and external requirements.
* Curriculum & Learner Support - Manage the learning process, provide tailored learner support, and collaborate with curriculum and support staff to enhance the student experience.
* Professional Knowledge & Practice - Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, understand inclusive learning principles, and apply effective teaching methodologies within the broader FE context.
* Compliance & Development - Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and actively engage in professional development to maintain educational and technical competence.
About you:
* Qualifications & Training - Holds or is working towards a DET or PGCE, with a degree in ESOL or a related subject and a CELTA or Trinity qualification specific to ESOL teaching.
* Teaching Experience & Versatility - Proven success teaching ESOL across various levels and age groups, including 16-18 learners and adults in both daytime and evening settings.
* Core Skills & Attributes - Strong communication skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and focused on achieving high retention and success rates.
* Commitment to Inclusion - Demonstrates a clear understanding of equality and diversity and integrates inclusive practices into teaching.
* Mobility & Flexibility - Holds a full driver's license with access to a vehicle, enabling travel to multiple teaching locations including college campuses, employer sites, and community venues.
