Job Summary
We are recruiting for a Senior Technical Operative to join our new Pride in the Coastal Access team at East Lindsey District Council, based at our Mablethorpe depot.
Our team is responsible for carrying out sand clearance operations along the coastline of the East Lindsey District, keeping the foreshores clean and tidy for residents and visitors alike. You will be joining a dedicated and hardworking team that operates in all weathers throughout the year.
You will be responsible for overseeing the Pride in East Lindsey Technical Operative, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This includes managing HR-related tasks such as maintaining staff rotas and supporting general workforce planning. You will ensure staff are trained appropriately, including all aspects of health and safety and safe working practices.
Typical Duties
* To carry out sand clearance operations along the coastline of the East Lindsey District, liaising with local authorities, supporting partners and agencies
* To operate sand clearance plant and machinery
* To provide a safe area of working and be responsible for all health and safety aspects of this role
* To complete risk assessments of works to be carried out in respect of sand clearance, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance work as part of the Pride in East Lindsey programmed schedule of works
What Do We Need From You?
* Full current LGV Cat C driving licence
* Excellent team working and advisory skills
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with an ability to communicate at all levels
We are looking for individuals who can work independently and use their own initiative, have the ability to work under pressure, someone with a good record keeping of vehicle/plant defects and maintenance, who is also able to analyse information to make informed judgements. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
