Job Title: Writer at Language Empire
Language Empire is seeking a talented Writer to join our team. As a Writer, you will be responsible for creating engaging and well-researched content for various purposes. We are looking for someone passionate about writing and effective communication. You will support the bid writing team throughout the entire bid process, producing compelling responses to help grow our business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, nationwide service provider.
Location: This role is office-based in Rochdale, OL12.
Responsibilities
* Support the bid writing team with end-to-end bid processes
* Assist in the preparation and planning of bid projects, including bid team coordination, planning, milestones, and deadlines
* Write original responses for bids and proposals for both new and existing clients in the public and private sectors
* Conduct thorough research on industry topics, best practices, and competitors
* Review bids for relevance, accuracy, and professionalism before submission
* Ensure all content is accurate, well-structured, and meets company standards
* Proofread and edit content for clarity and consistency
* Manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders at all levels
* Identify and re-work pre-written content where relevant
* Review past submissions, gather feedback, and promote continuous improvement
* Provide regular progress updates
* Assist in documenting bid strategies, differentiators, win themes, and key messages
* Contribute to a bid knowledge library and ensure content remains current
* Research and create content for various platforms, including websites, blogs, and social media
* Perform other marketing, bid development, and administrative duties as needed
Requirements
* Relevant degree (e.g., BA, MA, PhD) in Writing, English Language & Literature, or Journalism
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an extensive vocabulary
* High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
* Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
* Ability to deliver presentations effectively
* Team player with the ability to work independently
* Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage workload effectively
* Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
* Ambitious with a desire to develop skills and grow within the company
* Reliable commuting to Rochdale
