Primary Purpose: Systematically facilitate instructional improvement and student success by working with the campus leadership team, teachers, and district‑level curriculum and instruction leaders to diagnose and respond to the needs of teachers and students using data‑driven practices. This involves teacher development through lesson planning, observation and coaching, and job‑embedded professional development that leads to sustained implementation of effective instructional practices and instructional transformation.


Qualifications

* Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree; Valid Texas teaching certificate; Master’s Degree in content assignment preferred.
* Special Knowledge/Skills:
o Knowledge of instructional leadership competencies and willingness to lead.
o Ability to influence others and lead change.
o Strong core content knowledge in the associated content.
o Experience leading and managing a team of adults.
o Knowledge of classroom implementation of rigorous curriculum and instructional strategies.
o Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and research‑based best practices (e.g., standards‑based lesson planning, formative assessment, exemplars, success criteria, response to intervention, differentiated instruction).
o Evidence of providing observation and coaching for teachers.
o Evidence of creating and delivering professional development for teachers at the campus and district level.
o Presentation skills for adult learners.
o Knowledge of curriculum writing, alignment, and assessment creation.
o Exceptional communication skills.
o Commitment to the district mission and vision.
o Desire to implement a growth mindset.
* Minimum Experience:
o At least three years of successful teaching experience; rated at least proficient or above on all dimensions of the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T‑TESS).
o Experience in teacher mentoring/coaching.
o Experience using student and teacher level data to support lesson planning and differentiate instruction.
o Knowledge of multi‑tiered systems of support for students.
o Experience designing and leading professional development at district or campus level.
o Evidence of leadership activities at the campus level (examples and artifacts).


Major Responsibilities and Duties

* Coordinate implementation, monitoring, and ongoing support for all areas of teaching and learning across the curriculum; support programs including ELL, BE, MTSS, Special Education, and At‑Risk.
* Serve as an instructional liaison between the district and campus.
* Conduct needs assessment to identify strengths and opportunities; develop and deliver professional development and coaching.
* Deliver high‑quality professional development and coaching covering lesson planning, data‑driven instruction, effective delivery of instruction, response to intervention, and differentiation.
* Use teacher trackers and other tools to monitor the effects of professional development and develop next‑step plans.
* Design a personal calendar for observation, coaching, data disaggregation, lesson planning, and professional development.
* Ensure assessment data are available to teachers promptly and use data to prepare for meetings.
* Track student progress aligned to curriculum units, taught curriculum assessments, BOY/MOY/EOY progress monitoring, and response to intervention.
* Facilitate reflective conversations based on data and student work; assist teachers with strategic reteach plans and intervention strategies.
* Work with teachers to refine knowledge and skills using modeling, co‑teaching, peer observation, and in‑class coaching.
* Assist with common planning time structure and accountability measures.
* Implement assessment protocols to drive instructional decisions.
* Design and implement lesson planning and common assessment.
* Assist the district curriculum and instruction department in developing local curriculum documents and assessments aligned to standards.
* Facilitate job‑embedded professional development for teaching and planning.
* Participate in district professional development and apply knowledge to campus‑level initiatives.
* Collaborate with district coordinators and leaders for implementation of district initiatives and the MTSS framework.
* Respond promptly to phone and email inquiries from teachers and administrators.
* Perform other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions

Maintain emotional control under stress; meet deadlines; work collaboratively; cover extended walking; occasional travel between district and campus; use computers, spreadsheets, Google tools; lift up to 35 pounds.
