Job Title: Principal Deployment Strategist - BESS Reports To : Head of Sales – Energy Storage Location: Kidlington Working Conditions: Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days WFH Position: Permanent Role Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic, results driven Principal Deployment Strategist to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring customers achieve rapid time-to-value and long-term success with our battery intelligence products, driving real value into their business, and championing the customer within Elysia. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we deliver our products, onboard, support, and grow our enterprise customers. You will support technical discovery, scoping, and sales calls, and own the post-sales journey (end to end), from technical deployment to strategic adoption and long-term value realization, acting as the trusted advisor to our customers. Working closely with some of the most innovative names in energy and mobility, you will help them unlock the full potential of their batteries, presenting, consulting, advising and driving value for senior stakeholders in our customers’ business. Job Responsibilities: Act as the executive-level strategic partner for key enterprise accounts, building deep, trusted relationships across deployment, onboarding, adoption, expansion, and renewal. Serve as a thought leader and senior advisor, shaping strategic outcomes and delivering transformational value. Be the primary senior point of contact for your portfolio’s most complex and high-impact customers, functioning as an embedded strategic ally to their leadership teams and aligning Elysia’s solutions with their long-term business and technology vision. Lead large-scale, complex, multi-phase deployments spanning multiple Elysia products - orchestrating cross-functional delivery teams and managing interdependencies to ensure all technical, operational, and commercial requirements are met. Influence and coordinate the efforts of diverse internal and client-side teams, including Deployment Strategists, Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales, to deliver integrated, multi-product solutions without direct line management authority. Own the commercial success of your accounts in partnership with Sales leadership, taking joint responsibility for account strategy, renewal, and expansion, and directly contributing to commercial targets. Identify, shape, and close high-value growth opportunities by uncovering customer needs, crafting multi-product solutions, and influencing purchasing decisions at the executive level. Partner with Sales to design and execute enterprise deployment strategies that accelerate time-to-value, maximise adoption, and clearly demonstrate ROI, positioning Elysia for ongoing commercial success. Develop and own strategic account plans with defined milestones, KPIs, ROI targets, and revenue expansion goals, ensuring alignment with both customer transformation objectives and Elysia’s growth priorities. Drive strategic adoption by creating advanced enablement programs, value realisation frameworks, and executive-level success reviews that strengthen commercial positioning and long-term retention. Shape product direction by acting as a senior voice of the customer in roadmap discussions, influencing Product and Engineering to align innovation with market opportunities that support both customer outcomes and revenue growth. Architect, refine, and institutionalise best-practice frameworks, playbooks, and metrics for scalable, high-impact engagement, mentoring peers and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Deployment Strategy function. Contribute to the long-term strategy of the Deployment Strategy function, influencing tooling, culture, commercial models, and operational approaches to support Elysia’s global growth. Maintain a proactive risk and opportunity management approach, addressing issues before they escalate, aligning stakeholders, and protecting customer relationships to ensure exceptional retention and advocacy. Qualifications & Experience: 8 years’ experience in consultancy, customer success, technical account management, strategic deployment, or technical sales in a B2B software or energy/industrial technology environment, with a proven track record of commercial growth and enterprise-scale, multi-product programme leadership. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, science, or a related technical field; advanced degree advantageous. Deep understanding of battery technology, software, or data analytics, ideally in automotive, energy, or heavy industry contexts. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive engagement skills; comfortable influencing at C-suite level to drive both strategic and commercial outcomes. Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery teams without direct line authority, ensuring effective collaboration and accountability across multiple stakeholders. Skilled in using CRM (Salesforce), project management software (Asana, Jira), and analytics platforms to manage both delivery and account growth metrics. Strong strategic problem-solving skills, able to turn industry and technological complexity into actionable strategies that drive measurable customer and commercial impact. Demonstrated ability to mentor and influence peers in both delivery and commercial best practices. Bias for action with the ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while scaling what works. Global travel flexibility to engage with customers and stakeholders in person.
