We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef for a client of ours based in Barnsley.
Our client is a special education needs centre who requires a sous chef on a 3 month temp basis, starting ASAP.
**For this role you MUST have an in date Enhanced DBS and it must be on the update service, please only apply if you have this or are willing to obtain one**
You will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the needs of our students and staff. You will lead a small team of kitchen staff and work closely with our catering service provider to maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious and appealing meals to students and staff.
* Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to all food safety regulations.
* Manage food inventory, ordering, and stock control.
* Create menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Collaborate with the catering service provider to ensure smooth operations.
* Monitor food costs and manage the budget effectively.
* Foster a positive and inclusive dining environment for students and staff.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Culinary qualifications and relevant certifications.
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Creativity in menu planning and meal preparation.
