Position
Community Staff Nurse based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a fixed‑term basis for 12 months.
Hours
22.2 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for the management of the caseload in the absence of the Charge Nurse, including supervision and deployment of staff. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work on your own initiative and as a lone worker within a variety of settings within the community. You should be able to provide evidence of personal development and a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC Registration
* Excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
* Effective listening, clear communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
RIGHT TO WORK / CERTIFICATES OF SPONSORSHIP
To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visas and Immigration Service. We may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and other required criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre‑employment checks.
