With expanding community projects and new ways for people to get involved, it’s an exciting time to make a real impact.

This role will require the successful candidate to travel between National Trust sites and to external meetings. Therefore, due to the nature of this role a full UK Driving Licence is required.

This role involves some weekend, occasional evening working and duty manager shifts.

What it's like to work here

This role is based in County Fermanagh, part of the National Trust’s Fermanagh & Mid‑Ulster Portfolio, and involves working across three exceptional places: Castle Coole, Crom Estate and Florence Court.

Fermanagh sits in the west of Northern Ireland, around two hours from both Belfast and Dublin. It’s a rural, welcoming county bordering the Republic of Ireland, known for its lakes, landscapes and strong community identity.

Castle Coole, on the edge of Enniskillen, is Ireland’s finest neo‑classical house, celebrated for its architecture and collections.

Florence Court, eight miles from Enniskillen and close to the border, is the Trust’s most westerly property, set against the dramatic backdrop of Benaughlin and Cuilcagh mountains.

Crom Estate is a 2,000 acre landscape on Lough Erne, rich in wildlife, built heritage and nationally important conservation designations.

Together, these inspiring places offer a unique setting for community engagement, volunteering and partnership work.

What you'll be doing

As our Community, Participation and Volunteering Coordinator, you’ll help shape how people connect with the National Trust across Fermanagh. You’ll champion inclusive, community‑focused engagement, working with the Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager to deliver opportunities that welcome people from all backgrounds.

You’ll support volunteer managers across our three properties, giving them the tools and confidence to create flexible, rewarding volunteering experiences. From developing new ways for people to get involved to strengthening relationships with local groups, you’ll help build meaningful pathways into our work.

Every day will look different, you might be co‑creating a project with a community partner, supporting volunteer teams, or exploring new approaches to participation. What stays constant is your commitment to collaboration, community partnerships and ensuring our work genuinely benefits the people of Fermanagh.

If you’re motivated by purpose, energised by working with others and excited to help people play their part in caring for special places, this role offers the chance to make a real impact.
